How we got here?

I already mentioned it in our introduction. We probably would not be camping if it wasn’t for MS.

A Journey of Adventure, Despite the Odds

Living in the Sunshine State offers countless opportunities for fun and relaxation. From the magic of Disney to the thrill of Busch Gardens, Florida has it all. However, for someone with a disability like Multiple Sclerosis, even a short trip can be a daunting task.

Charlene’s condition, particularly the impact on her legs, made traditional travel a challenge. Even a seemingly simple outing to Busch Gardens, a little over an hour away, could leave her exhausted. While we could push her in a wheelchair, the journey itself would significantly limit our enjoyment. Staying in a hotel overnight wasn’t always feasible, and hiring a dog sitter added another layer of complexity.

That’s when we started considering a different approach: RV camping. After careful research, we settled on a Class C RV. Its lower profile and accessible cab made it the perfect fit for our needs.

We quickly realized that our disability could actually be an advantage. National and State Parks offer discounts for people with disabilities, making camping in stunning locations more affordable. Many parks also provide accessible campsites, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

Finding activities we could both enjoy took some time. While I and our furry companions loved hiking, it wasn’t always feasible for Charlene. We eventually discovered kayaking, a perfect way to explore serene waterways and enjoy the outdoors together.

Our journey has taken us far beyond our initial plans. We’ve upgraded to a Class A RV and even decided to embrace the full-time RV lifestyle. We’re excited to share our experiences and inspire others to explore the world, regardless of their limitations.

Stay tuned for more adventures!

About us

Hi everyone!

We’re Kreg and Charlene. Charlene lives with Multiple Sclerosis, which can make even short car trips challenging. We started dreaming of RV life around 2015 as a way to travel comfortably with her and our furry friends.

In October 2018, we took our first step into this exciting lifestyle by purchasing our initial RV. This allowed us to explore the country and create lasting memories, despite the limitations posed by Charlene’s condition.

After selling our house in April 2022 and my retirement in October of that same year, we fully embraced full-time RV living. This lifestyle change has allowed us to explore the country at our own pace, free from the constraints of a traditional home.

While we’re excited about our RV adventures, I haven’t forgotten my love for cooking. Check out my Instagram feed for mouthwatering inspiration!
